Introducing VPN & Peering Services
We are pleased to introduce our latest additions to our cloud platform - Site-to-Site VPN and Private Networks (VPC) Peering. These two services offer our customers new and, most importantly, simplified ways to connect their on-premises or other public cloud networks to Flow Cloud and link their cloud resources together.
Introduction
VPN and Peering are two different managed connectivity services that use the same technology in the background but can be used independently of each other. Both services use the Internet Key Exchange (IKE) and IP Security (IPsec) protocols to establish secure connections and are based on strongSwan's IPsec solution.
VPN
Site-to-Site VPN allows our customers to establish a secure, encrypted connection between their on-premise or other public cloud networks and their cloud environment in the Flow Cloud. This connection can be used to access resources in the cloud as if they were on the same local network, and to transfer data between the two environments. Site-to-Site VPN is a managed, and cost-effective solution for businesses that need to connect their remote networks to the cloud.
Peering
Peering, on the other hand, allows businesses to easily connect two cross-regional or two regional private networks with just a few clicks, enabling them to share resources and data between the two environments as if they were on the same network. This can be especially useful for businesses that operate in multiple regions, or that have separate private networks (VPCs) for different teams or projects.
Summary
In summary, both connectivity services are powerful new cloud computing services that offer our customers a simplified way to connect their remote networks to their cloud resources in the Flow Cloud.
