Introducing “Compute” – the Swiss-based, enterprise-class Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)

After almost three years of hard work, we are excited to share with you the launch of our multi-regional Compute platform with certified data centers in Zurich (ZRH1) and Lucerne (ALP1). Designed and developed in-house, Compute is built to meet the highest quality standards without compromising simplicity.

Quality over quantity

Highly available by design, the entire architecture is designed to be fully redundant with no single point of failure. Exclusively built using enterprise-class components, it offers proven reliability, high performance and simple expandability. As one of the most critical components of an IaaS environment, Tier 1 storage systems are our go-to choice when it comes to offering the best possible protection of data integrity. Our all-flash storage systems use 100% NVMe-based drives and are perfect for mission-critical workloads. Our customers also benefit from FIPS 140-2 validated and PCI DSS-compliant AES-256 data-at-rest encryption as a standard feature

AWS-like networking

From day one, it was very important for us to be able to offer a networking concept similar in design to AWS. As result, our new cloud platform comes with advanced networking functionalities as standard, including VPCs, security groups, Elastic IP addresses and more. If you are already familiar with AWS, you will immediately find your way around. The only difference is that Compute is much easier to use, making it suitable for both simple and sophisticated network topologies.

Control panel and API

We are particularly proud of our minimalist control panel design. According to most beta testing customers, it is the simplest control panel in the cloud-hosting industry. We couldn’t agree more, and we definitely recommend giving it a whirl. Our REST API allows you to deploy and manage all objects in a programmatic way using conventional HTTP requests.

Pay-as-you-go

Our platform has a usage-based billing model, whereby users are billed by the hour. Essentially, it’s a lot like a prepaid mobile phone plan, where payment is made in advance (prepaid principle). Customers are only billed for the resources they actually use, without the hassle of commitments or minimum contract periods – it’s that simple.

We just got started

Even though this first edition already offers plenty of core features and other benefits, this is just the beginning. We have already started working on additional features that will make the platform even more attractive in future.

Flow Compute is ideal for enterprises and businesses of all sizes that need to run mission-critical workloads in the cloud. Customers and interested parties can sign up for a free no-obligation 14-day trial at https://flow.swiss/compute.
